Ayurveda

Ayurveda stands for the philosophy that diseases are caused due to the imbalance of doshas in our body.

This balance can be restored with a proper diet that suits your body, herbal concoctions, lifestyle modifications, and therapies.

All clients who wish to embark upon the journey of Ayurveda with Arogya will first need to go through a consultation process with our in-house ayurvedic physician.

Such treatments are carried out with the aim of removing toxins and restoring health and well-being.

Treatment Modalities In Ayurveda

Ayurveda uses two main ways to treat and cure disease: Shamana (Palliative) or Shodana (Purificatory)

Shamana

Shamana involves palliative treatments and is suggested when the doshas in your body are found to be imbalanced.

Diet, therapies, herbs, and lifestyle modifications are advised by our ayurvedic physician to attain this balance for optimal health.

All Ayurvedic treatments at Arogya are prescribed and customized with specific herbs and oils by the doctor according to the needs of the client.

Shodana is otherwise known as panchakarma – Pancha means five and karma means action.

These purification therapies help to eliminate toxins from the body and restores balance in the body.

Shamana Treatments

Abhyanga (Oil Massage Treatment)

This is the most common form of Ayurvedic therapy.

It involves the application of warm medicated oils to the body.

Abhyanga is a distinct type of massage and is highly therapeutic in nature.

Abhyanga provides the means for transdermal absorption of the healing qualities of the medicated oil used in the massage.

It also helps the skin to perform its diverse functions efficiently, whether it is allowing toxins to be released from the body or nourishment to be absorbed by the tissues.

Shirodhara (Oil Dripping Therapy)

Shirodhara involves the pouring of lukewarm medicated oil continuously as a stream onto the forehead in an oscillating manner.

Shirodhara brings about an unexpected sense of calmness, an immense feeling of relaxation, and a wonderful stillness of the mind.

This therapy is often used for the treatment of headaches, extreme migraines, insomnia, hypertension, stress, and nervous disorders.

Shirodhara is based on the principle of invigorating the mind and bringing oneness to the body.

Kizhi (Hot Poultice Treatment)

The herbal powder poultice is heated and applied over the body or affected areas in soft pouches.

The bolus of the pouch is heated intermittently during the course of the treatment.

It is beneficial in treating inflammatory conditions such as joint pain and stiffness.

Additionally, this treatment also improves blood circulation and helps to rejuvenate the body.

Kati Vasthi

The term Kati refers to the lower back region. Kati Vasthi is a treatment in which warm oil is kept at the lower back within a specific frame for a specific time period.

It helps in strengthening the muscles especially those in the low back region and alleviating lower back pain & sciatica.

The treatment is also effective in muscular spasm and inflammations in the low back region.

Udwartana (Medicated Powder Massage)

This is a special herbal treatment that improves the overall circulation of blood in the body.

It also helps to improve the skin tone for an overall healthy appearance.

Udvartana also assists in weight loss.

However, this must be coupled with a sensible diet and proper fitness regime to achieve such results.

Shirolepam (Herbal Paste Application on Scalp)

This is an effective treatment for insomnia, stress, hair loss, and dandruff.

The herbs that are used in the paste nourish the scalp, rejuvenate dry hair and stimulate circulation in the scalp to promote hair growth.

The oils that are used help to naturally cleanse and detoxify the scalp and the roots of the hair.

The paste as a whole protects the hair’s natural color and luster while cooling the head and calming the mind

Shodana Treatments

Panchakarma is suggested for a person with their specific constitution and specific disorder in mind.

Thus, it requires close observation and supervision from our highly trained and skillful Ayurvedic practitioner

Sauna

We offer Far Infrared Sauna at Arogya.

Compared to traditional saunas which use wood stoves or heaters to warm the air to high temperatures.

Far-infrared saunas use light which provides deep penetrating heat at a lower, and more comfortable temperature (closer to 60 degrees Celsius).

An infrared sauna produces the same infrared heat produced by the sun. The infrared heat is required for all living things for optimum health.

This radiant heat increases the thermal energy in joints, muscles, and tissues
